Prevnar 20 contains a vaccine known as the Pneumococcal 20-valent Conjugate Vaccine, which includes saccharides from 20 different serotypes of pneumococcal bacteria. The active ingredients are these saccharides conjugated to a non-toxic diphtheria CRM protein. This vaccine formulation is a sterile suspension administered via injection, with each 0.5 mL dose containing specific amounts of the saccharides, CRM protein, and other ingredients like polysorbate 80 and succinate buffer. It is intended to help protect against infections caused by the pneumococcal bacteria.

How should I use this medication?

This vaccine is injected into a muscle. It is given by your care team. A copy of Vaccine Information Statements will be given before each vaccination. Be sure to read this information carefully each time. This sheet may change often. Talk to your care team about the use of this medication in children. While it may be given to children as young as 6 weeks for selected conditions, precautions do apply.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once. NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others.

What if I miss a dose?

This does not apply. This medication is not for regular use.

Where should I keep my medication?

This vaccine is only given by your care team. It will not be stored at home.
